The notice of lien attaches to the full amount of your settlement except:
- Property damage (unless the Washington State Department of Social Health Services has a lien on the vehicle involved).
- Reasonable attorney fees and costs.
- Medical expenses paid directly to the provider.
The child support lien attaches to the remaining amount you would receive if there was not a child support lien.
