Text Messages from DSHS

The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services started sending text messages in March 2025 that provide customers with additional program reminders. These messages are designed to keep you informed with important updates and help keep your benefits open.

Purpose and Goals:

DSHS is committed to improving the customer experience and providing more current and efficient ways to communicate with you. Along with the letters you may receive from us in the mail, we may also send you text messages to remind you of important program actions, like reminders about your eligibility reviews. Text frequencies may vary depending on the reason for the text and your specific household needs.
