The 1990 Child Care Rate Study was based on: 837 responses from licensed child care centers (May 1990) 1,085 telephone interviews with licensed family child care providers (June 1990) 5,501 telephone interviews with families of children under 6 years old (January 1991) Surveys were completed by the Office of Research and Data Analysis, Department of Social and Health Services in cooperation with Washington State University and the Child Care Coordinating Committee
