Persons who applied for chemical dependency treatment services under Washington State's Alcoholism and Drug addiction Treatment and Support Act

This report describes the personal characteristics and employment and public assistance outcomes for adults who are referred for ADATSA chemical dependence treatment services. The report is based on a sample of 1,567 of the 6,900 or so persons who were referred for clinical assessment for ADATSA services in the fall of 1989, after being found financially eligible for assistance. The descriptive data were obtained from the case records of the 1,118 clients actually assessed. The employment and public assistance outcome data were obtained from state agency records. These outcomes cover the nine months after completion of treatment or drop out.
