The Giving Care, Taking Care conference for family caregivers will occur June 4, 2018 at the Tukwila Community Center. Hosted by the Department of Social and Health Services, Full Life Care and Pierce County Human Services, this annual conference supports and connects unpaid family caregivers in all stages of caregiving.
The all-day conference includes informative, interactive sessions on a range of topics, including dementia and brain health, legal considerations, caregiving tips, and nutrition. This year’s keynote speaker Elaine Sanchez, co-founder of caregiverhelp.org will talk about Seven Survival Tips for Caregivers.
“Each year we hear from the caregivers who attend the conference that one of the most valuable parts of the conference is connecting with other caregivers,” said Bill Moss, Assistant Secretary for the Aging and Long-Term Support Administration. “We are proud to support the hundreds of caregivers who attend this conference, as well as the thousands of family caregivers statewide with various programs, supports and services.”
Registration in advance is required – there is no registration at the door. The conference fee is discounted until May 14, 2018. Early registration fees are: $30 for individual caregivers and $50 for agency-based caregivers.
