News: The federal government hasn’t passed spending legislation to keep the government open. That means, as of Oct. 1, 2025, portions of the federal government have stopped operating. DSHS is working to analyze court rulings and implement federal guidance from USDA's Food and Nutrition Service to ensure we can issue partial November food benefits to people in Washington state as soon as possible.
