The Bureau of Refugee Assistance (BORA) in the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is responsible for administering federal funds allocated to provide assistance to refugees arriving in Washington State. The goal of this program is to promote economic self-sufficiency through the provision of social services and financial and medical assistance.
