On August 1, 1989 Washington State Legislature expanded Medicaid coverage to pregnant women with incomes up to and including 185% of the Federal Poverty Level. This volume, and its companion volume, Maternity Care Access Study: Washington State First Steps Project, are the first reports about the women who became pregnant just after the First Steps project was implemented. This volume contains eight groups of data tables. Each series of tables contains background, process and outcome information for a different group of women, compared to all women. A comprehensive index at the end of the volume can be used to locate specific topics.
