Final Amendments related to chapter 388-78a WAC Assisted living facility licensing rules
Dear Assisted Living Administrator:
In February 2012, Residential Care Services (RCS) informed you about changes to boarding home licensing rules. The department recently filed the final Rule-Making Order (CR-103) for amendments to chapter 388-78A Washington Administrative Code (WAC), Assisted Living Facility Licensing Rules, with the Office of the Code Reviser. The rules will become effective July 19, 2013 and is published in the Washington Register as WSR 13-13-063.
The purpose of amending these rules is to comply with Senate House Bill 2056 and rulemaking at this time was limited to changing the term "boarding home" to "assisted living facility" throughout chapter 388-78A WAC.
The CR-103, including amended WAC language, is available electronically on the ADSA website at http://www.aasa.dshs.wa.gov/professional/bh.htm under the heading of "Assisted Living Facility Rule Filings".
After the effective date, when the rule language is "codified" and amended in the existing WAC chapter, you will be able to read and print the final rules by visiting http://app.leg.wa.gov/WAC/default.aspx?cite=388-78A
If you have any questions, please contact your local RCS Field Manager. Thank you for your continued commitment to the long-term care residents of our State.
Sincerely,
Joyce Pashley Stockwell, Director
Residential Care Services
