Community Residential Services for Children

Out-of-Home Services (OHS)

Out-of-Home Services (OHS) provides residential habilitation services for children outside of a child’s family home. The service is voluntary and agreed to by the child’s parent/ legal guardian and service provider. Services are provided in licensed or certified community-based settings. Parents retain custody, and work in partnership with the licensed/certified provider through a child and family engagement plan that supports the child and their individual support needs. OHS engage local communities, licensed providers, schools and other stakeholders to coordinate services that wrap around the individual.
