The Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) operates according to the statutes established in the Revised Code of Washington, as interpreted by Washington Administrative Code.
Revised Code of Washington
The Revised Code of Washington (RCW) are statutes enacted and amended by the Washington State Legislature. The developmental disabilities statutes are under Title 71A RCW.
Washington Administrative Code
State agencies adopt rules called Washington Administrative Codes (WACs) to implement state and federal law. A rule is an agency interpretation of a statute that establishes regulations for the agency and the public and have the effect of law. Rules are adopted according to the rulemaking process in Chapter 34.05 RCW.
