In the fall of 1991 a Treatment Professional Peer Panel Review was conducted to study adolescent substance abuse treatment. This study had three main objectives. These were to: 1. Investigate the level of professional agreement on placement of adolescents in different treatment programs, 2. Identify the criteria and factors important in determining placements, and 3. Evaluate the existing placement process. 72 client assessments were selected from 110 files gathered around the state. 48 assessments came from Regular Outpatient facilities, 12 came from Intensive Outpatient facilities, and the remaining 12 came from Inpatient residential facilities.
