DDA Employment and Day services are delivered in partnership with counties, contracted provider agencies, and school districts (depending on age), in addition to short-term support from the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. It’s a team effort with you at the center, pointing the direction you want to go.
Individual Supported Employment
As part of your pathway to employment, these supports are tailored to your individual needs, interests, abilities to promote your career development. These long-term supports help you find and maintain integrated employment at (or above) the state’s minimum wage in the general workforce.
Services may include: intake, discovery, assessment, job preparation, job marketing, job supports, record keeping and support to maintain a job.
Group Supported Employment
Receive ongoing supervised employment in a group of no more than eight workers with disabilities in the same integrated setting. Examples include: enclaves, mobile crews, and other business models employing small groups of workers with disabilities in integrated employment in community settings.
This group service is intended to be short-term, leading to individual employment in your community, at or above minimum wage.
High School Transition
Get ready for life after high school by enrolling in your high school transition program. Services offered by counties and DDA contracted providers vary by county. Some areas have a county-funded School to Work or transition programs and our Jobs Foundation pilot program has been growing roots in every county of the state. Community Inclusion
Get individualized support in an integrated community setting, with opportunities to learn, practice and apply skills that promote greater independence and inclusion in your community. Services include:
- Assistance to participate in activities, events and organizations in your local community.
- Opportunities to develop relationships and to learn, practice and apply skills that result in greater independence and community inclusion.
Requirements for DDA eligible clients:
- 9 months of participation in a DDA employment services for working age clients 21-61.
- Age 62 or older does not require 9 months of participation in DDA employment services.
- DDA approved exception to the 9-month rule may be made for clients under age 62.
Individualized Technical Assistance
This service provides assessment and consultation to you, your service provider, and your support system to identify and work to remove barriers that might be keeping you from getting a job or being part of your community.
This is in addition to supports received through supported employment or community inclusion services for individuals who have not yet achieved their employment or community inclusion goal.
