The 1975 Day Care for Training (DCT) program was evaluated for a five-year period, spanning the years 1978-1982. Findings included: DCT grant savings due to reductions in active grants exceeded those of the comparison group by $338,023 over the five-year period. These savings replaced the child care costs ($130,120) that had not been recouped prior to the end of 1977. The remaining grant savings, $207,903, were a program benefit to the state. A small but increasing difference between closed DCT and closed comparison cases occurred over the five-year period.
