Washington's intergenerational challenges will include: Making investments in the proportionately smaller youth population, who need day care and education today. As the workforce of tomorrow, youth will hold the health of the economy in their hands. Finding ways to support and supplement the care-giving responsibilities of working adults for their children and parents. Engaging the experience and creativity of the majority of healthy senior citizens in the activities of society, and maintaining support for infirm elderly. Finding ways to keep all segments of society -- children, youth, adults, and seniors -- out of poverty. Finding ways for business and social and health services to work together to promote the welfare of children, youth, working adult caregivers, and the aged.
