Behavioral Health Administration

What We Do

The Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) transforms lives by supporting sustainable recovery, independence and wellness.  We do this through funding and supporting effective prevention and intervention services for youth and families, and treatment and recovery support for youth and adults with addiction and mental health conditions (also known as behavioral health).  It operates three state psychiatric hospitals that deliver high-quality services to adults and children with complex needs. BHA’s team of 2,804 staff ensures that nearly 150,000 people receive needed services each year on a $910 million annual budget.

More details are available in our strategic plan.  Information about specific services is available in our fact sheets, and on the following pages.
