News: The federal government hasn’t passed spending legislation to keep the government open. That means, as of Oct. 1, 2025, portions of the federal government have stopped operating. Following court rulings issued in late October, DSHS received federal guidance from USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service on Nov. 4. We are working to analyze and implement that guidance to ensure we can issue partial November food benefits to people in Washington state as soon as possible. Click here for more information
