LACEY – The Department of Social and Health Services’ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation prioritizes the health and safety of its customers, staff, and community partners. With this in mind, DVR will implement the following measures at its statewide offices, effective immediately:

  • Limiting staff availability in offices

  • Transitioning staff to telework and remote methods of communication and service delivery

  • Limiting customer visits to offices to in-person appointments, scheduled in advance

  • “Retooling” lobbies to promote social distancing

  • Directing DVR staff located in WorkSource offices to provide remote services only (per statewide WorkSource closures mandated by Employment Security Department)

DVR’s decisions are in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Governor’s office, and the Department of Health, intended to reduce the spread of COVID-19 by:

  • Expanding telework options for employees

  • Limiting public gatherings

  • Closing schools

  • Implementing requirements for social distancing

DVR encourages our customers to take advantage of these options in order to access services from the safety and convenience of their own homes.

Future service updates will be available at www.dshs.wa.gov/dvr and on DSHS Facebook and Twitter. Additional information is available on the state’s new coronavirus web site.
