Regional Service Centers offer education and training to businesses, nonprofits and local government agencies on how to identify and remove communication barriers. Topics include the Americans With Disabilities Act, legal obligations, making accommodations and providing auxiliary aids used by people who are deaf, hard of hearing and deaf-blind. Training includes the following topics:
- Understanding the language and culture of deaf people
- Providing and using sign language interpreters
- Developing communication strategies for people with hearing loss
- Providing assistive technologies and services
