ODHH provides consultations for DSHS employers who are in need of strategies to provide effective communication between DSHS employees and Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, Hard of Hearing and Late Deafened clients. These consultation services are also available to other state and local government agencies. Services are available in accordance to Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Communication Access Real-time Translation - CART services, is a professional service that can be delivered on location or remotely. CART services provide the instant translation of the spoken words into text using a stenotype machine, notebook computer and real-time software. The text produced by the CART service can be displayed on an individual’s computer monitor, projected onto a screen, combined with a video presentation to appear as captions, or otherwise made available using other transmission and display systems.
