Sunnyside, WA – The Department of Social and Health Services’ Sunnyside office is relocating effective May 14, 2025, from Yakima Valley Highway to 3302 Picard Pl., Sunnyside, WA 98944. This new location is centrally located just off Interstate 82 at exit 69, 1.6 miles from the former location.
During the move, a DSHS mobile outreach truck will be at the Yakima Valley Highway location to ensure service continuity and support Sunnyside customers and employees. The Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families will occupy a portion of the Picard Place building along with one employee from DSHS’s Office of Fraud and Accountability and seven from the DSHS Home and Community Living Administration.
The Sunnyside Community Services Office will continue to offer the Kaleidoscope Play and Learn program, with availability increasing to two days a week, Mondays and Thursdays. In addition, The Lighthouse – Advocacy, Prevention and Education Center will continue to provide advocacy services for people experiencing domestic violence.
DSHS prioritizes safety for customers and employees at all our locations. With a 19% smaller footprint than the previous office, it offers enhanced safety features, such as a secure and user-friendly lobby. The new office and technology will allow for client interactions to take place at the front counter and private interview rooms, creating a quieter working environment for employees and improved data security for customers.
This new facility will offer employees new workspace amenities and environmental and energy-saving features such as overflow cubicles, privacy pods, parents’ room, wellness room, water conservation features and electric vehicle charging stations in the parking lot.
“We’re confident these improvements will be welcomed by DSHS clients and employees alike,” said Brice Montgomery, director of DSHS’s Community Services Division. “The new facility is shaping up beautifully, and we look forward to opening the doors wide to Sunnyside and furthering our mission to help its residents access much-needed support, care and resources.”
