Nursing Facility Audit and Credit Balance Report Information

The Department will no longer conduct Accounts Receivable Audits in pursuit of the recovery of Nursing Facility overpayments, beginning July 1, 2019. In addition, we have discontinued the requirement for facilities to provide a quarterly Aging Report and its accompanying Credit Balance Report.  For more information, please see Dear Administrator letter #2019-002.

Audits of Medicaid-contracted nursing facilities are conducted approximately once every four years. These audits examine resident trust accounts. If you have any questions about audits, please contact Marylou LaLonde, Audit Lead, at (360) 725-3496 or Marylou.LaLonde@dshs.wa.gov,, or Tiffany Hills, Nursing Facility Rates Manager, at (360) 995-2809 or Tiffany.Hills@dshs.wa.gov.
