This document presents a prototype “dashboard” for monitoring the performance of the statewide system of care for individuals with mental illness in Washington State. Goals, outcomes, and associated performance measures were developed by the leadership team of Washington’s Mental Health Transformation Project (MHTP), federal funding for which was received in 2005. These goals and measures represent an approach initiated by the MHTP to monitor the mental health system from a cross-agency perspective. Indicators over time from both administrative and survey data sources are presented in the following sections: individual level success, system level success, and community level success. Indicators include measures for both DSHS clients with mental illness and for the general population.
