If ALF serves one or more clients with special needs, the administrator or designee must complete specialty training and demonstrate competency by passing the DSHS test.
If a client develops special needs while living in a home without a specialty designation, the administrator or designee has 120 days to complete specialty training and demonstrate competency.
If an ALF serves one or more clients with special needs, all LTC workers must receive training regarding the specialty needs of individual clients in the home. (Time frame: 120 days) YES
Nurse Delegation Core and Special Focus on Diabetes

Must be a Nursing Assistant Registered, Nursing Assistant Certified, or a Certified Home Care Aide and complete ND core training before accepting a delegated task. Can have a designee. Only required if employee will perform delegated tasks. Must be a Nursing Assistant Registered, Nursing Assistant Certified, or a Certified Home Care Aide and complete ND core training before accepting a delegated task. Only required if employee will perform delegated tasks. Must use DSHS curriculum. Instructors must be DSHS contracted community instructors.
Continuing Education (CE)

Food Handling and Safety

See LTC Worker Training Requirements Assisted Living Facility long-term care workers working as a "food service worker" (defined in WAC 246-217-010) must maintain a current food worker card. Long-term care workers handling a resident's food must take appropriate training (as provided in WAC 246-217-015).
