The following information is designed to help home care agencies understand how to get their LTC workers required training.
Getting Workers Trained
Determine which courses your LTC workers will need. Review the Understand the 75 hour training requirements to learn more about what training is required.
To offer LTC worker training courses to your own staff, you must become a DSHS approved Community Instructor Training Program.
If you decide to:
- Train your own staff, you must:
- Apply and become a DSHS approved Community Instructor Training Program. Go to the Community Instructor page for all the information and forms you need.
- Use DSHS independent approved community instructors:
- Contact DSHS approved community instructors who train in your county.
Your HCA does not need to notify the department and become a Training Program if you will be using approved community instructors for ALL required training.
