We gather in a spirit of respect, relational accountability, and responsibility to the Tribal Nations within the five states that take part in the Money Follows the Person Tribal Initiative. This work has shown what is possible when Tribal Nations and state partners come together to strengthen long term services and supports and home and community-based services that reflect the communities they serve.
Over the years, this work has been more than policy or program. It has been about honoring sovereignty, uplifting Tribal voices, and supporting Elders and relatives with disabilities in ways that reflect traditional knowledge and access to modern care. The successes we celebrate come from trust, collaboration, and perseverance.
The initiative remains committed to standing with Tribal Nations as they design and deliver care that aligns with their values and cultural teachings, while also navigating the complexities of state and federal systems. This work is not only about moving programs forward. It is about restoring balance, dignity, and choice for our communities.
The relationships built through this initiative remind us that together we can create systems of care that honor our past, meet the needs of today, and prepare for future generations.
2025 Tribal Summit
The 2025 Tribal Summit brought together Tribal Nations and state partners for three days of learning, reflection, and shared purpose. Held on the homelands of the Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation, the gathering focused on strengthening long term services and supports, listening to Tribal priorities, and honoring the teachings shared by Elders, caregivers, and cultural leaders.
